Jesus died because I suck
I had a teacher who once said that all people are basically good. She was wrong. All people aren’t good. I’m not good. In fact I suck. School, the newspapers, your parents – EVERYONE says that we’re pretty good. Jesus says we’re not. And THAT’S why Jesus died. Jesus died because I suck. Jesus died because all people suck. Jesus died because you suck! When Jesus died on the cross he took all our suckiness upon himself. When Jesus died: he died in my place; he took my penalty; he took my sin. Jesus died because I suck.

Is it right to say humanity ’sucks’? I agree with Dale that none of us are good. I may even agree that we ’suck’ becasue Romans says we’ve become worthless… but what about the fact I am made in the image of God?
saying that we suck (or “none of us are good”) doesn’t have to deny that we are made in the image of God.
